I UNDERSTAND THAT:
  • I take responsibility for knowing Toronto Metropolitan University Policy 170(a) pertaining to academic standings.
  • If I fail to meet any Department/School Academic Standing variation requirements, I will be Required to Withdraw at the end of the term.
  • If I achieve a Term Grade Point Average (TGPA) of at least 1.67, I will continue in my program on Probation.
  • If I do not achieve a term Grade Point Average (TGPA) of at least 1.67, I will be Required to Withdraw at the end of the term.
  • If I achieve both a Term Grade Point Average (TGPA) and a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 1.67, I will have a Clear standing at the end of the term. *EXCEPTION: Students Participating in the Fresh Start Program.
  • If I fail to achieve a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of at least 1.00, regardless of my Term Grade Point Average (TGPA), I will be Required to Withdraw from the University.
  • Workshops, seminars and other recommendations are designed to assist me in succeeding and I should attend them as soon as possible.
  • I must seek assistance from an appropriate instructor or program advisor as soon as any problems arise during the term.
  • Failure to abide by this contract will jeopardize my ability to successfully appeal my academic standing assigned at the end of the term.
  • I understand that there may be implications for my OSAP eligibility based upon my course load.
*Students approved to participate in the Student Success Fresh Start Program will be designated as having an EXTENDED ACADEMIC PROBATION (EAP) Standing.
*Students participating in Fresh Start will be required to successfully complete the requirements of their first and second EAP contracts as established and agreed upon by your program. If a student satisfies all the conditions of both EAP 1 and EAP 2 contracts with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 1.67 or higher, their standing will be Clear.
